Skeer stepping up a notch

IT has been a whirlwind ride for Furner motorcycle racer Dallas Skeer.

He is about to take the next step in his career, with an invitation to head to Sepang in October and try out for the 2017 Asia Talent Cup.

The opportunity comes on the back of Skeer’s 2016 Hartwell Club Championship and George Carrick Championship this season, in his first year on a 125cc Grand Prix bike.

Should Skeer perform well, he may have the chance to return for the second round of trials in December, then a final trip in February before the season kicks off.

A good performance in the Asia Talent Cup could lead to a ride in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies competition in Europe, with a chance to compete in the Moto3 Championships, should all go to plan.

ON THE PACE: Furner motorcycle racer Dallas Skeer has shown plenty of pace in 2016, with a pair of championships in the Hartwell club season and a lap record at McNamara Park. On the back of those performances Skeer has been invited to attend the Asia Talent Cup tryouts in October.
